Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the speed control characteristics and reduce the size of a speed controller, by detecting the time of change in the acceleration or deceleration of an elevator and controlling an armature current.
CONSTITUTION: An acceleration differentiator 52, which differentiates the acceleration to generate an output, is coupled to the output of a speed generator 12. The output of the acceleration differentiator 52 is applied to a phase shifter 28 for an armature 8 so that the output is added to an instruction, which is applied by an armature current instructor 25. A part of the armature current is thus controlled as a function of the acceleration change rate. As a result, the armature current quickly responds to the acceleration change rate to improve the speed characteristics the armature current is increased to raise the torque and the delay in a field circuit is compensated to reduce the forcing factor of a field control power source 16. This makes it possible to reduce the capacity of a transformer 36 and the dielectric strength of a thyristor 17.
