Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the erroneous function of the protective relay due to the inrush by detecting the inrush flowing during the excitation through digital operation then controlling the relaying operation for transformer protection.
CONSTITUTION: Currents at high, middle and low voltage sides of two-winding transformer 11 are taken out through current transformers and applied on the transducers 13a∼13c. Then their outputs are provided through sample-hole circuits 14a∼14c and A/D converter 15 to CPU circuit 16. Sade CPU circuit compares the digitally encoded current data im with the amount corresponding with the magnitude of current data im-1 ∼ im-12 before predetermined interval and performs the protective function on the basis of the result of said comparison. In such a manner the inrush flowing during the excitation of the transformer is detected through the digital operation to control the relay operation for the transformer protection, thereby it causes no erroneous function even for the inrush.
