Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize a picture process method through which a highly efficient pattern decision is possible just by using the simple algorism by securing the self- correlation function between the 1st and 2nd picture element signals which can be read out through analyzation of the picture into the picture elements.
CONSTITUTION: The picture element signal is memorized temporarily in buffer circuit 14 and then delivered to distributor 42 with the prescribed timing. While self-correlation function arithmetic circuit 43 receives the picture element signal to perform the necessary calculation, and delivers the result to pattern classifying circuit 44. Circuit 44 decides the type of the picture based on the output of circuit 33 and delivers the decision result to distributor 42. Distributor 42 delivers the input picture element signal to proper one of process circuits 45-1W45-n, and adds (46) the output of 45-1W45-n to then deliver it in the form of the process signal. Thus, the correlation function is obtained between the picture element signals, and the picture pattern is decided based on the function. As a result, the optimum picture process becomes possible in a short time just by using the simple algorism.
