CONSTITUTION:Heaters 4 and 5 are provided at the cylinder wall of the heating part A of a bridging cylinder 3 in which the interior of the heating part is rendered into a saturated steam atmosphere 6, and heat energy of steam 6 and radiation energy from the cylinder wall are applied to a cable 1 to be bridged thereby to carry out heat bridging operation. For example, an unbridged (unvulcanized) plastic or rubber cable 1 is covered continuously with an insulating material by an extruder crosshead 2, and heaters 4 and 5 are provided on the inner wall or outer wall, and sent into the bridging cylinder 3 the interior of which is rendered into a saturated steam atmosphere 6 and which has the heating part A, and heated by both heat energy of steam 6 and radiation energy from heaters 4 and 5 or the cylinder wall thereby carry out bridging.
