Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the quantity of Nitrogen Oxides generated by combustion, by adjusting the position of a burner tip automatically corresponding to the change of fuel flow quantity with the passage of time.
CONSTITUTION: The optimum burner positions a - g where the amount of NOx generation becomes least corresponding to the levels of fuel flow quantity which varies with the passage of time are determined beforehand. The change of fuel flow quantity during combustion is detected with a pressure detector 4 provided on a fuel supply line 3, its flow quantity signal actuates a burner moving device 8 and it moves the burner 1 automatically so that its tip may come to the optimum position. By so constructing, the amount of NOx generation during combustion can be stabilized at low levels regardless of the change of fuel flow quantity with the passage of time.
