Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect tube leakage position in a heat exchanger used in power generation plant accurately and in a short time, by attaching an acoustic transmitter to a detector main body, and connecting a flexible connection lever which leads out to the outside of leaking tube. CONSTITUTION:A detector 11 possesses a searching element 12 which searches along the longitudinal direction of a tube, and a union 17, and is provided with an acoustic transmitter 18 and a connection lever 19 furnished with scale 22, and also has a searching element which searches leakage position along the circumferential direction of the tube. If a leaking tube 3' is found in a high pressure feed water heater 1, the detector 11 is brought into a water chamber 5, and is inserted into the tube 3'. When a tube leakage part 9 enters a small chamber 16 of the searching element 12, the air leaking into the tube flows into the small chamber 16 and enters the transmitter 18 through the union 17, causing the acoustic transmitter 25 to emit an acoustic signal. At this time, the distance from the surface of tube plate 4 to the tube leakage part 9 is detected on the scale 22 of the connection lever 19. Next, using other searching element, the position in the circumferential direction is detected.
