Abstract
Heat exchanger consists of an outer chamber with a series of inner tubes inside it, a tubular plate fixed to the chamber, with ends of the tubes mouned in the openings provided in the plate. Specifically, the tubular plate includes a flexible part between its main part and the outer chamber, to reduce the stresses and strains due to heat, occurring between the outer chamber and the tubular plate. Redn. of the stresses and strains between the chamber and the tubular plate leads to redn. of the possibility of premature fatigue fracture, and hence redn. of the possibility of failure of the welds between the tubes and the tubular plate. Hence the life of the heat exchanger is increased.
