Abstract
PURPOSE:To extend the service life of distributing shoots and to reduce equipment cost, by installing, in a bell-less type blast furnace, revolvable and inclinable raw- material-distributing shoots under a fixed hopper, and by mounting the driving mechanism for the shoots at the outside of the furnace. CONSTITUTION:A bell-less type blast furnace is equipped with a fixed hopper 2, which serves simultaneously as a shield for heat in the furnace, at the furnace top. Under the hopper 2 is installed raw-material-distributing shoots 5 which are revolvable and inclinable. A driving mechansim (a cylinder 9 for inclining, a revolving devive 14) of the shoots 5 is attached at the outside of the furnace so that is undergoes no direct effect of radiated heat or dust present in the furnace. Hereby, the distributing shoots has long service life without being broken through wear because the charged material enters once into the fixed hopper 2, where it is stirred, then moves to the distributing shoots, instead of falling directly to the shoots 5. The driving mechanism for the distributing shoots is hardly damaged by heat or dust because it is installed at outside of the furnace.
