Abstract

PURPOSE: To suitably form a photosensitive cover film upon a drum together with a protecting or adhesive film, which is made of such a material as is soluble to an organic solvent, by continuously applying various liquids to the drum under a preset atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: Within a container which has its atmosphere uniformalized by stirring means and which is substantially seladed, a drum 1 is driven through a belt 2 and is turned at a preset speed in the direction of arrow. The container is staturated with the vapor of the same solvent as is used in a photosensitive liquid. A plurality of cylinders 3 and 3a are interchanged by a change-over valve 5 and are connected through pipes 8 and 8a with a coating blade 4, which is equipped with a roller 6 and a vertical adjusting screw 7, so that they are fed with photosensitive liquids and coating liquids having different solute compositions, thus forming a coating film A. Before this film A is dried, the subsequent liquid is continuously applied. After these applications, the solvent vapor pressure in the atmosphere is gradually lowered to form a dried coating film which has different chemical compositions or composition ratios in the thickness direction.
