Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I: (R is halomethyl group; X is H, 1W2C lower alkyl, 1W3C halogens when Y is H, X is 1W2C lower alkyl when Y is halogen, X is di-halogen when Y is lower alkyl group, X is 1W2 NO2 groups when Y is lower alkoxy group).
EXAMPLE: 3-Trifluoromethyl-6-phenoxy-S-triazolo[4,3-b]pyridazine of formula IV.
USE: Fungicides, insecticides, and intermediates for their synthesis, effective against serious blight, e.g. blast, of main crops, and aginst serious harmful insects of vegetables and fruit trees.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II: (hal is halogen) is reacted with a phenolate of formula III: (M is alkali metal) in a solvent, e.g. dioxane, to give the in a solvent, e.g. dioxane, to give the objective compound of formula I.
