Abstract
PURPOSE: To make a similar construction of the large width section of a dust-containing gas passage to a dust collector with cylindrical dust collecting electrodes for enabling dust collecting electrodes to obtain the dust collection performance comparable to said cylindrical dust collecting electrodes despite the plate shape thereof.
CONSTITUTION: An electrode construction is made by arranging a plurality of corrugated dust collecting electrodes 1 on which the projections 1A and depressions 1B having an equal curvature radius are alternately provided so as to face each other, in parallel to each other at an equal space of intervals. The setting of the distance between mutually adjacent ones of said corrugated dust collecting electrodes 1 is made so that the corresponding depressions 1A and projections 1B thereof to each other may face each other on the common circle C thereof and linear discharge electrodes 2 are provided between said dust collecting electrodes 1, 1 to extend onto the curvature center X of said circule C. The dust-containing gas passage 3 formed between said 1 electrodes 1, 1 varies the width thereof alternately in flow direction. Thanks to such a construction as described heretofore, the dust collection performance comparable to that of cylindrical dust collecting electrodes can be obtained.
