Abstract

PURPOSE: The pipe for feeding vinyl monomers are divided into two parts with separators and the oxidizing agent in a redox catalyst is supplied from the one section and the reducing agent is from the other section, thus preventing the clogging of the pipe and facilitating the formation of vinyl polymers.
CONSTITUTION: A mixing device that consists of a pipe having a plurality of separators, thus dividing flow path into 2 sections, is used and vinyl monomers are made to flow continuously in it. The oxidizing agent in a redox catalyst is continuously fed to the one section that is formed by dividing with the first separator in respect with the flow direction in the mixer and the reducing agent is fed to the other section. The oxidizing agent in the redoxy catalyst is, e.g., hydrogen peroxide, potassium persulfate, benzoyl peroxide, and the reducing agent is, e.g., sodium bisulfite, ferrous chloride, triethylamine.
