Abstract

PURPOSE: To surely drain water from a sand cushion part, by connecting a riser pipe projecting from the bottom of a drain collecting box to a sump tank through a ring header and a check valve.
CONSTITUTION: An opening 4 is provided in the bottom of the sand cushion part 3 and connected to the drain collector collecting box 7 through a sand-proof screen and a flange member. Gravel 9 packed in wire net 8 is filled in the opening 4 so that the grain size of the gravel increases toward the sand-proof screen 5. The riser pipe 11 projects from the bottom of the drain collecting box 7 and is connected to the ring header 12, which is connected to the sump tank 15 through a pipe 13 fitted with the check valve 14. Thus, the water can be surely drained from the sand cushion 3 without causing sand to flow out.
