Abstract

PURPOSE:To make program seaching function easy by so disposing a recording position identifying head as to make contact to tape at other than the window face through which the magnetic tape is drawn out and providing a recess to a part of the cassette case. CONSTITUTION:A recording position identifying signal head 20 which records and reproduces program searching signals is so disposed as to make contact to the magnetic material surface of a magnetic tape 3 at a part within the tape path in the tape contained state of a cassette 14 and yet at other than the window face through which the magnetic tape 3 may be drawn out at the loading. Further a recess 21 is provided to a part of the case of the cassette 14 and is engaged to the program search signal head 20. Hence, the head 20 is always in contact with the magnetic tape irrespective of loading and unloading states and therefore the tape 3 may be stably loaded to the drum 1 and in addition, the construction may be made simple and the space small.
