Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the impedance characteristics the absolute value of which increases suddenly and monotonously from the VHF through UHF bands by selecting the thickness of the electrode finger so that the relfective coefficient of the elastic surface wave may be larger than the electricity- machine combination coefficiency of the piezoelectric substrate. CONSTITUTION:The constitution of the transducer is equivalent to that in which a number of transducers T' are arranged in sequence. In case the amplitude ratio between incident elastic surface wave (a) into T' and reflected elastic surface wave (b), i.e., the reflective coefficient due to T' is larger and the electricity-machine combination coefficiency, the real number component of the admittance viewed between electrode E1 and E2 becomes as shown by curve I with imaginary number component B shown by curve II respectively. Thus, the absolute value ¦Z¦ (curve 50) of the impedance viewed between E1 and E2 features the minimum value at frequency fr and the maximum value at frequency fa are increases monotonously between fr-fa with no waving at all, obtaining good impedance characteristics. The proper selection of thickness Di of electrode finger ei of E1 and E2 results to obtaining the reflective coefficiency of T' caused by the elastic surface wave larger than the electricity-machine combination coefficiency of substrate 1.
