Abstract

PURPOSE: The title assembly designed to spin multi-layer composite fibers of concentric annular cross-section without forming retention zones in the spinning orifices, wherein two types of different polymer liquids are passed through a specific upper spinneret plate provided between a distribution plate and a spinneret.
CONSTITUTION: The polymer liquid A is fed from the holes 25, and the polymer liquid B is fed from the hole 27 and made to flow in a direction perpendicular to the liquid A which flows through the inlets 12 annularly via the protrusions 20. The both liquids flow through the channels 23 to the extrusion outlets 14. The cylinders 19 having small holes 22 for the liquid B protrude in the holes 11 to form annular channels without forming retention zones. The centers of the through-holes 18 are made conincident with those of the holes 11, and hollow multi-layer composite fibers of uniform layer form and good quality can be obtained stably.
