Abstract

PURPOSE: A polyester composition having imp4roved antistatic properties and resistance to washing, obtained by adding a specific block terpolymer to a fiber-forming aromatic polyester.
CONSTITUTION: A) A fiber-forming aromatic polyester comprising not less than 80 mol.% of a polyethylene terephthalate component is blended with B) 0.1W60 wt.% of a block terpolymer having a molecular weight not more than 100,000 obtained by reacting a) 10W95 wt.% of a polyalkylene oxide having a molecular weight of 300W100,000 with b) a polysulfoisophthalate having a degree of polymerization not less than 2 and a molecular weight not more than 20,000 in an amount to give 0.01W5 wt.% of sulfur content derived from sulfoisophthalic acid, and c) a polyester having a degree of polymerization not less than 2 and a molecular weight not more than 20,000.
