Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a current feeding circuit for single-phase AC electric railway, in which only a balancing reactor is employed in no use of step-up transformer or autotransformer, whereby it is enabled to eliminate influence of the induction voltage caused by the return current of electric car passing through the rail.
CONSTITUTION: Current is fed from substation 19 via feder wire 21 to electric car 24, and return current (ib) of electric car is passed in rail 22. A balancing reactor 20 is connected between the substation 19 and aerial or underground wire 23. Therefore, the return current is forcibly divided into wire 23 insulated from rail 22. Here, if supply terminal connected to the winding of balancing reactor 20 is provided at the central portion of the winding, IT'=IT"=1/2 IT. It is that return current of electric car passing through rail 22 one half of load current, so that inductive interference to communication wires can be minimized.
