Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently supply the quantity of oil needed continually to a range where a cam and a locker arm contact without using special lubricating parts, such as, a lubricating pipe, etc.
CONSTITUTION: In an overhead cam shaft type valve mechanism where an intake (exhaust) valve 9 is opened against the force of a compression coil spring 13 when a locker arm 4 is turned centering around a locker arm shaft 3 by means of a cam 6, on oil path 14 extending along an axis of a cam shaft 12 formed on one portion at the revolution side more upward than an axial core location of the cam shaft 2 of a cylinder head 1 - that is, one portion of locations more left than said axial core location when the direction of the rotation of the cam chaft 2 is the direction of clockwise rotation in the figure - while a lubricating nozzle hole 15, which one end is connected to the oil path 14, which extends toward the surface of the cam 6 from the oil path 14 and which is opened to an upper surface of the cylinder head 1, is shaped. The cam shaft 2 is supported onto the cylinder head 1 by means of a bearing cap 17.
