Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the maloperation of current detector by detecting the current of load switch and then by damping DC transient current generated at the time of tap changing by providing a current suppressing element to the secondary circuit of current transformer to be monitored.
CONSTITUTION: The movable contacts 6 and 7 of the tap selector are connected to the load switches 9 and 10 through the current limit reactor 8, and when load current at the tap changing time is detected by the current transformers 11 and 12 and protection is made by detecting the breaking failure of arc of load switch by the current detector 15, the anti-parallel connection rectifying element 16 is provided between the current transformers 11 and 12 and the current detector 15. For this reason, when closing the current limit reactor 8 by the load switches 9 and 10 at the tap changing time, transient current component overlapping on the secondary circuit of the current transformers 11 and 12 can be damped, thus preventing the maloperation of current detector due to the transient current.
