Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide exterior parts for a watch which are wear and corrosion resistant and are usable for a long time, by forming entireor partial surface of the parts with amorphous metal made by rapid cooling with liquid coolant. CONSTITUTION:Some sections, e.g., outside surfaces A, B, which are liable to wear, or some sections C, D, E, F, etc. which are prone to undergo clearance corrosion, contact corrosion, of an exterior parts are made amorphous by heating the surface with, e.g., CO2 laser, and then by cooling it rapidly. Previous cooling of atmosphere with liq. nitrogen etc. forms amorphous surface more efficiently.
