Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a detecting element material composition which is highly sensitive to CO gas, is low in element resistance value and is within a pracicability range by compounding tin oxide, platinum oxide and antimony oxide at specific ratios.
CONSTITUTION: This comprises compounding and kneading SnO2 80 to 96wt%, PtO for enhancing the sensitivity of semiconductor parent material to Co gas 2 to 10wt% and Sb2O3 for lowering the absolute value of the resistance value of the detecting element material 2 to 10wt%, whereby the detecting element material composition which is highly sensitive to CO gas and whose element resistance value is within the practicability range may be obtained.
