Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the circuit constitution by omitting both the level detecting pulse generator circuit and the mixer circuit by gating and drawing out the carrier wave at the part corresponding to the blanking period of the TV video signal and then giving a control to secure a constant amplitude for the carrier wave of the blanking period.
CONSTITUTION: The video signal given from terminal 1 is clamped through clamping circuit 4 and then applied to modulator circuit 5 to be modulated by the negative modulation method. The modulated signal is applied to 1H-delay element 6 to be delayed by 1H and then delivered via gain control circuit 7 and demodulator circuit 8. The carrier wave of the blanking period is drawn out through gate circuit 12 from the output signal of circuit 7 and at the control input of circuit 7. Then a comparison is given between the output of rectifier circuit 10 which converted the carrier wave into the DC voltage and the reference voltage at comparator 11, and the output of comparator 11 is applied to control the gain of circuit 7 so that the output voltage of 11 may be zero at all tiems.
