Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the power supply capacity by forming a power circuit temporarily utilized at part of a toroidal magnetic field coil power supply when the current in the field coil is risen.
CONSTITUTION: Energizing current to a toroidal magnetic field coil 3 and vertical magnetic field coil 2 supplied via a toroidal magnetic field coil power supply 10 and vertical magnetic field coil power supply 11 of capacity for compensating the loss of resistive component of the toroidal magnetic field coil through a switch 12. The switch 12 is transferred to contact 14 at energizing rise time of the coil 3 to flow currents from both the power supplies 10, 11 to the coil 3. When the toroidal current of the coil 3 reaches predetermined value, the switch 12 is switched to contact 13 side to energize the coil 2 from the power supply 11 and to retain the energization of the coil 3 only by the power supply 10.
