Abstract

PURPOSE: To cool the intake mixture and the car room with a coolant, by driving a turbine by the coolant heated by the exhaust gas and driving a compressor, through which the coolant is cuased to circulate, by the turbine.
CONSTITUTION: A first evaporator 43 is installed at the intake pipe 4 of a Diesel engine 2. A boiler 16 is installed at the exhaust pipe 6 of the engine. A system 12, through which the coolant such as dichlorodifluoromethane is caused to circulate, consists of the boiler 16, the turbine 18, a condenser 20 and a pump 22. A cooling system 14 consists of the first evaporator 34, the compressor 26, a condenser 38 and a second evaporator 36, which is located in the car room and is shifted by a shiftying valve 30 and another shifting valve 32. The cooling system 14 is combine with the intake pipe 4. The compressor 26 is revolved by the turbine 18 driven by the system 12 to cause the coolant of the system 14 of flow through the first and the second evaporators 34, 36. Thus, the intake mixture and the car room are cooled.
