Abstract
PURPOSE: To make unnecessary the acceleration of the finishing mill, and to contrive the energy saving and the uniformization of the quality, by arranging the reheating furnace internally holding the steel sheet transferrer, between the roughing mill and the finishing mill, in the continuous hot rolling mill.
CONSTITUTION: The well-known steel material transferrers 11, 12, 13, are installed between the rear table 5 of the roughing mill and the front table 7 of the finishing mill; the reheating furnace or the warming furnace 15, provided with multiple unit heaters 16 respectively independent of each other, is arranged so as to cover above transferrers 12, 13. The temperature of the intermediate rolled material 14 is measured by the thermometer 4, and the rolled material 14 is heated to a uniform temperature by the heaters 16 correspondingly to the measured temperature; and the material 14 is supplied to the finishing mill 6. As a result, the acceleration of the finishing mill 6 becomes unnecessary. Moreover, the heat radiation of the material 14 in the transferrers 12, 13, is reduced, and the temperature of the heating furnace 2 can be lowered to contrive the energy saving; besides, the reduction of skid marks and the uniformization of the quality become possible.
