Abstract

PURPOSE: To stably and accurately measure gas by alternatively measuring the oxygen partial pressures of standard gas and gas to be measured at predetermined oxygen concentration via diaphragm electrodes to obtain the ratio of the measured value to the standard gas at oxygen partial pressure.
CONSTITUTION: Standard gas of constant oxygen concentration and gas to be measured are applied to electrode cell EC alternatively via a pump P and a cooler C by a control valve switched alternatively via a timer T to detect the voltage proportional to the oxygen partial pressure by the diaphragm electrodes of the cell EC. The detected voltage is processed via sample holding circuit SH1, differential amplifier DA controlled by the timer T to hold the voltage corresponding to the difference between the oxygen partial pressure of the gas to be measure and the oxygen partial pressure of the standard gas in the sample holding circuit SH2. When the holding values of the circuits SH1, SH2 are divided by a divider D, the infinitesimal oxygen partial pressure can be stably and accurately obtained and measured from the ratio of the oxygen partial pressure of the standard gas regardless of the temperature, air pressure, component variation to that of the gas to be measured.
