Abstract

A method of measuring the molecular oxygen content of a gas in flow (19) comprises placing in the stream of a device (9) comprising a pair of electrodes (13 and 14) sandwiching a solid electrolyte (12). A current bias is applied to the electrodes and current flow, indicative of oxygen ion propagation in the electrolyte and hence the molecular oxygen content of the gas stream, is measured.
