Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure an accurate angle tracking by constituting the tracking radar with the mono-pulse coupler, the antenna tracking receiver and the antenna control unit and then picking up even the false lock signal (error signal) when the sum signal, the azimuth error signal and the elevation angle error signal are obtained. CONSTITUTION:Mono-pulse coupler 1 consists of 4 units of horns 2-5, 4 units polarized wave converters 6-9 and 4 units of magics 10-13. The output signals of magics 10-13 are applied to antenna control unit 16 via tracking receiver 15. The electric field of the electromagnetic wave entering horns 2-5 is converted via the polarized wave surface of converters 6-9, and the desired angle tracking signal is obtained through magics 10-13 which are hybrid couplers. In this way, the three signals (sum signal SIGMA, azimuth error signal AZ and elevation angle error signal EL) can by obtained. In addition these three signals, the FL singal which shows the error signal and has been hitherto thrown away is picked up too to be applied to unit 16. Thus, the faulse orientation of the antenna can be corrected.
