Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the tone quality of a received signal with the gain of a low frequency amplifier increased by obtaining the IF signal of an ordinary FM signal when an antenna input arrives in an ordinary intense electric field state and by forming a frequency negative feedback loop in a weak electric field input state. CONSTITUTION:In the frequency negative feedback FM demodulator, equipped with frequency converter 2, intermediate frequency filter 5, frequency discriminator 7, and variable frequency oscillator 3, which feeds back negatively a signal regenerated by stereo demodulator circuit 9 to local oscillator 3 through frequency/DC- voltage converter circuit 13, the output of IF amplification stage 4 is suplied partially to threshold-level detection circuit 14 to obtain a DC signal equivalent to the level of an intermediate frequency signal amplified by amplification stage 4, and applying this DC signal to switching methods 15 and 16 turns switch 15 ON in a weak electric field input state to form a negative feedback loop, so that the gain of amplifier 8 will increase with switch 16 ON. In an intense electric field input state, on the other hand, the feedback loop is turned FF by the output of circuit 14.
