Abstract

PURPOSE: A coating composition useful for insulated wires that is obtained by blending an alkyl titanate with a polyester resin in the presence of a phenolic solvent and heating, thus having good coating film properties and coating operability without the reduction of curing speed.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 100 parts by wt of a polyester resin prepared from polycarboxylic acids mainly consisting of aromatic dicarboxylic acids as terephthalic acid and 1.1W2.5 times molar amount of polyhydroxy alcohols as ethylene glycol are heated with (B) 0.05W0.3 part. calculated as titanium metal, of alkyl titanate as a curing agent and (C) 2W20 parts of a phenol over 150°C, preferably at 160W 200°C. The coating operation is suitably conducted at 80W200°C.
EFFECT: As a small amount of solvent is employed, the worsening of operation environment can be prevented.
