Abstract

PURPOSE: In V recovery by dissolving V-containing catalyst in acid, H2O2 is used in addition thereby effecting speedy dissolution without heating.
CONSTITUTION: In recovering V from V-containing catalyst such as used for NOx removal catalyst, V compound is first dissolved in solution consisting of inorganic acid and H2O2. An amount of H2O2 equal to 1/5 to 1/100 is sufficient. The solution is neutralized to be slightly alkaline, and then an ammonium compound is added to precipitate ammonium vanadate.
