Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a high-temperature-use catalyst for producing methacrylic acid through gas phase catalytic oxidation of methacrolein by employing ammonium molybdoarsenate precipitated and separated under inorg. acidic condition in a single form or used with ammonium molybdophosphate.
CONSTITUTION: Ammonium molybdoarsenate precepitated and separated in the presence of HCl, H2SO4, or HNO3 at pH5 or below, or both ammonium molybdoarsenate and ammonium molbdophosphate are used to prepare a catalyst, which is employed for gas phase catalytic oxidation of methacrolein to produce methacrylic acid. The catalyst is represented by the formula MoaASbPc(NH4)d [When a=12, b=0.1W4, c=0W2 (with b+c=0.5W3), d=0.01W3].
