Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the title compound which is a raw material of an intermediate for synthesis of terpene useful as a perfume, with simple operations, safely and in high yield, by reacting an α-thiocarbonyl compound with an allyl compound in the presence of an alkaline aqueous solution.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I is prepared by reacting a compound of formula II (R1 is alkyl or aryl; R2 is H, alkyl, aromatic group, etd.) with a compound of formula III (R3-R6 are H, alkyl, aryl, etc.; X is halogen or sulfonato) at room temperature in the presence of an alkaline aqueous solution such as KOH. The compounds of formula II and III and a base in the alkaline aqueous solution, respectively, are used in almost equivalent amounts.
EFFECT: The hydrolysis of the easily hydrolyzable compound of formula III can be suppressed to the minimum by an alkaline aqueous solution.
