Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an efficient, low noise and compact dehumidifier by employing a pair of thermal elements.
CONSTITUTION: An air current introduced from the outside of a casing 8 is cooled by a lower temperature heat transfer surface 2 and fins 3 of an electronic refrigerator 1 comprising a pair of thermal elements to reduce the moisture contained therein, and the condensed moisture proceeds along the lower temperature heat transfer surfae 2 and the fins 3 through a drip hole 1 provided in a bottom of the casing 8 into a reservoir 12 for condensed moisture. The cooled air current with low humidity is heated by a higher temperature heat transfer surface 4 and fins 5 of the electronic refrigerator 1 and is blown outside of the casing 8 as an air current with low humidity. Accordingly, the air current temperature Th passing along the higher temperature heat transfer surface 4 and the fins 5 is lowered than the air temperature Tc passing along the lower temperature heat transfer surface 2 and the fins 3, and therefore the efficiency of the electronic refrigerator 1 is greatly improved to effect removing a large amount of moisture contained in an air current.
