Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a heat-treating apparatus which improves quality of steel pipe, by installing a transfer mechanism made up of conveying rollers and a rotating frames which support the rollers and rotate along with the steel pipe so as to shape the steel pipe and correct the deformation. CONSTITUTION:A steel pipe 1 is heated to a prescribed temp. by heaters 15a, 15b, then cooled rapidly by coolers 16a, 16b so as to be hardened while being rotated around the central axis and conveyed in the direction of an arrow 17 by conveying mechanisms 8a, 8b. In this case, since the steel pipe 1 is rotated around its central axis, unevenness of heating and cooling due to eccentricity between the steel pipe 1 and the heaters 15a, 15b or coolers 16a, 16b is prevented. In addn., because the form of the rollers 2a-2d coincides that of the steel pipe, the steel pipe can be corrected into a prescribed form.
