Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform auto reversing purely mechanically without using any solenoid plunger and the like by providing a tape direction priority determining mechanism which performs the determination of the priority order of tape feed directions in auto reversing readily and well.
CONSTITUTION: When both PLAY operators are simultaneously operated, a reverse driving lever 601 when it is in the right uphill first position is no longer disengaged with a power relief switch 701 and sets the right feed running state in that position because the timing at which one end 603a of a gear lock lever 633 engages to the cam part 604a of a reverse gear mechanism 604 is made faster than the timing at which left and right reproduction sliders 123b, 125b engage to the reverse driving lever 601. On the other hand, if the reverse driving lever 601 is in the left uphill second position (the state where the feed has been stopped in the left feed running state), the left end of the lever 601 is in the state of being engageable to a switch 701 and therefore the lever 601 is beaten by the elastic force of a return switch 701 upon detaching of a switch slider 702 from 701 and the power source is held at ON until the lever inverts to the first position and the right feed running is preceded.
