Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to standardize differential pressure converting unit to a smaller size and to accurately detect the fine quantities of process variables such as pressure or liquid level by making such construction that only one half of the differential pressure metered is applied to the differential pressure converting unit of the converter.
CONSTITUTION: If high and static pressures PH and PS are applied through pressure inlets 1' and 1 of flanges 2' and 2, respectively, they are transmitted as internal pressures to a pressure converting unit BH and a pressure converting unit BL through inner diaphragms 16 and 16' respectively. On the other hand, the pressure in the filled liquid 19 in the outer diaphragms 15 and 15' takes a value of (PH+PS)/2. As a result, the pressures to be applied to the pressure converting units BH and BL take the value ΔP/2 which is the half of the differential pressure. Since, in this way, the half pressure of the differential pressure is applied to the differential pressure converting unit, the converting unit can be standardized to a small size, and it is possible to provide a differential pressure converter which can detect the highly accurate pressure under a high static pressure of high range.
