CONSTITUTION: When the conductivity of a chopper 6 is controlled by a hybrid control system by operating alternately an on-pulse oscillating circuit 2 and an on- pulse oscillating circuit 3 by the output of an accelerator circuit 1 of an electric motor car or the like, the detection of overheat of the chopper 6 is carried out by a thermostat 4b, and the base current of a transistor 2a of the on-pulse oscillator 2 is determined through a diode 1j by a potential operating at a point d of the accelerator circuit 1, thereby preventing the oscillation period from decreasing to a value less than the set value. For this reason, since the conductivity of the chopper is suppressed, and, at the same time, the maximum chopping frequency is lowered, it is possible to suppress loss at the time of commutation and to prevent overheating of the chopper.
