Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the element light in weight, flexible, easy to handle and higher in recording and displaying contrast with low energies by adding and incorporating an cyclic organic compound having pi electrons to a 2, 4, 7-trinitro-9-fluorenone film. CONSTITUTION:The 2, 4, 7-trinitro-9-fluorenone TNF shown by formula [I] added with 0.05 to 30 wt.%, preferably 0.5 to 10 wt.% of an cyclic organic compound having pi electrons such as carbazol is deposited on a base 1 such as glass by a fushing-quenching method, vapor deposition method or the like, whereby the TNF base film 2 is formed as a recording layer. Thereby, the stability of amorphous state at ordinary temperature is further enhanced and improved in a display or recording method of making use of solid phase transition between the amorphous state (becoming transparent) to crystal state (becoming non-transparent) of TNF.
