Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve higher density and make connection work more efficient by performing the constitution of cores of the shape to be linearly determined by the use of a plurality of optical fiber strands. CONSTITUTION:Even force 7 is applied from the outside to three optical fiber strands 1 so as to be mutually closely contacted, whereby such a shape in which they are inscribed in an equilateral triangle 8 is constituted. This shape is linearly determined and does not change to other shapes. Further it is made possible to perform optical fiber core constitution by using n(n + 1)/2 of optical fibers. With such optical fiber core constitution, a plurality of optical fiber strands are combined in mutually close contact and therefore higher density is made possible. In addition, the position relations of the strands with themselves are accurately set and therefore collective connection of a plurality of optical fiber strands may be performed.
