Abstract

PURPOSE: To discriminate the abnormal state of a reading light source which moves together with a reader in a body, by detecting the current state flowing to the light source.
CONSTITUTION: When contact C is closed according to start signals, etc.,of a reader, the current is flowed to reading light source 3 to cause light source 3 to emit light. The current is converted to a detection voltage by detection resistance R1. Detection voltage Vi and reference voltage Vs are compared with each other; and when Vi≥Vs is trun, output V0 indicating a normal state is generated. If comparison amplifier 7 outputs output V0, a facsimile unit is held in a driving state by output V0. If output V0 dissapears, the unit is stopped to prevent needless transmission.
