Abstract
PURPOSE:To make two-way simultaneous communication possible by using the output light of one or a pair of luminous elements which are incorporated in one communication unit. CONSTITUTION:Input signal 11 causes luminous element 13 to emit light in modulation. This signal and the non-modulation light of luminous element 14 are synthesized in synthesizing circuit 15 and are transmitted. The signal light which is propagated through optical transmission path 31 is branched by light branching filter 21, and components where the output of luminous element 13 is main are converted to electric signals by photo detector 22. Components where the output of luminous element 14 is main are inputted to light modulator 26 and are modulated by input signal 24. This signal light is propagated through optical transmissin path 32 and is converted to electric signals by photo detector 16. since luminous elements are used only in one station 10 in this constitution, the reliability of luminous elements can be improved if this station is installed in the position of good environment.
