Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the tension of a material through optimum torque, by composing a tension controller of a first generator for detecting the rotational frequency of a winding frame, a second generator for detecting the feed velocity of the material, a first multiplier, a second multiplier, an adder and a control unit.
CONSTITUTION: The pulse generator 3 for detecting the feed velocity of the material is attached to a feed roller 2. The pulse generator 5 for detecting the rotational frequency of the winding frame and a powder brake 6 are attached to the winding frame 4. The output signal fc from the pulse generator 3 and the output signal fp from the pulse generator 5 are entered into a frequency division calculator 8 of a controller 7. The velocity detection signal fc is also entered into a voltage converter 9. These signals are processed by the multiplier 12, a voltage converter 13, the multiplier 14, etc., thereby supplying an unwinding diameter signal to the tension control unit 19. The control unit 19 controls the normal running torque depending on the unwinding diameter to keep the tension of the material constant.
