Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain wide band reproduction and flat frequency characteristics of speakers by using a porous material composed of inorganic matter as a core material and forming a thin film of inorganic matter on its one or both surfaces. CONSTITUTION:An inorganic binder 2 (aluminum phosphate) (30 parts) is added to a hollow glass body 1 (100 parts) of 100 to 150mum in particle size and 0.16 in specific gravity. After these are mixing, the mixture is heated and molded and aluminum phosphate is coated on the surfaces of the molding thus formed, which is then again subjected to heat treatment, whereby the thin films 3 are formed on the surfaces. The properties of the diaphragm for speakers obtained in this manner are lighter in weight than paper cone and are larger in the modulus of elasticity and specific modulus.
