Abstract

PURPOSE: To form the section of an optical tape line in arbitrary sectional shape in conformity with the shape of core material by winding plural optical fiber tapes on the outside circumference of the core material and increase the strength of the optical tape line by the core material.
CONSTITUTION: With the core material 21 being so arranged as to be taken up on a take-up drum 9, the rotary plate 10 of an aggregating machine 5 is kept being rotat- ed to wind the respective optical fiber tapes 3A thru 3F being rewound from bobbins 12a thru 12f on the outside of a core material 21 while positioning these through the respective through-holes of a mesh plate 14. Further the rotary plate 18 of a tape winding machine 7 is also rotated to wind the retaining tapes 20 being rewound from both bobbins 19a, 19b on the outside circumference of the respective optical fiber tapes in the foregoing wound state. At the same time this tape aggregate is taken up as an optical tape line 22 on the take-up drum 9.
