Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the vent-up of resin in a vented twin-screw continuous kneader, by providing the vent port at the space where the gas dissolved in the molten resin separates from the resin. CONSTITUTION:The kneaded, molten resin containing gas flows as shown in the stream line 5 from the upstream of a baffle plate 31 to the side of the plate. The resin does not pass around behind the baffle plate, thus leaving a dead space 4 behind the plate 31. Since the vent port 30 opens its end at the dead space 4, the gas in the molten resin is successively evacuated by connecting the vent port 30 with a vacuum pump. The dead space 4, which is formed by the flow of the resin, does not dissapear by applying vacuum, and the vent-up of the resin can be prevented.
