Abstract

PURPOSE: To evenly fill glass by heating the glass in a vacuum to the condition wherein forming of glass lumps with its surface tension is obviated by the expanding force of the bubbles contained in the glass at the time of filling the glass in the notch of magnetic head core.
CONSTITUTION: When the magnetic head constituting member inserted with a glass bar is progressively heated in a vacuum, the bubbles 12 in the glass expand and the expanding force thereof forces the glass from the glass inserting groove 4 through operating gap part 11 and notch 3 out to the winding groove 5 side. When the degree of vacuum is lowered by introducing an inert gas after this, the bubbles are dissipated by the introducing gas pressure and if the glass is made fluid by ordinary penetration methods, desired glass filling may be accomplished.
