Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the color reproduction excellent even for shortage of exposure during photography by forming two red sensitive layers of silver halide, which have their maximum spectroscopically sensitive wavelengths different a preset value, thereby to produce the above-specified photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:Several red sensitive layers of silver halide are so used that the maximum spectroscopically sensitive wavelength of the layer close to a substrate is shorter by 10 nm than that of the layer apart from the substrate. Namely, it is preferred that the maximum spectroscopically sensitive wavelength of the upper layer has a value of about 650 nm whereas that of the lower layer has a value of about 630 nm with a difference inbetween being about 15 to 30 nm. That wavelength can be varied by sensitizing the silver halides with the use of more than two kinds of sensitizing color elements. It is advantageous that the compounds as specified in Formulas I and II are used as a kind of the sensitizing color elements to be combined.
