Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure the high-accuracy weighting for the reflector by constituting the distribution-type reflector of the elastic surface wave resonator with the bit aggregate. CONSTITUTION:In diagram A, bit 22 is formed on the surface of the piezoelectric material substrate such as ST-cut crystal substrate 21 via the ion beam etching device. Bits 22 are arrayed on straight line row 25 nearly equidistantly. Straight lines 25 are disposed with distance of 1/2 waveform of the surface wave. As the mass lacks for bit 22 at its periphery, the surface wave entered from the direction of arrow 23 is reflected at each bit. And only the reflective waves whose intermediate phases are overlapped each other are compounded to be reflected in the direction of arrow 24 and thus to form an effective surface wave reflector. While in diagram B, bit 31 is formed along straight line row 32, and the number of the bit differs with each array and with the weighting given. The weighting is also possible by filling up the bit with the material which varies the propagation velocity of the elastic surface wave.
